Roger Shaffer
is President and CEO of FCCServices. FCCServices provides insurance, consulting, and business services primarily to organizations in the Farm Credit System. Roger is responsible for managing and providing leadership for the organization. Prior to this position, Roger was Senior Vice President of Consulting Services at FCCS, leading a team of professionals who provide consulting, training, executive development, coaching, and joint purchasing services to Farm Credit System and other organizations. In addition to his duties as CEO, he provides executive coaching and consults with management and boards on merger evaluation and strategic planning.
Roger has over 30 years of experience consulting and coaching with chief executives and board chairs on strategy, organizational effectivess and leadership enhancement. Since joining FCCServices, he has managed several major projects aimed at improving the competitive position of organizations in the Farm Credit System, including:
- Leading the design team to develop and implement a leadership developmental succession process (Leadership Development Program);
- Developing a model process to evaluate consolidations, mergers or alliances;
- Managing an organizational effectiveness project to create and sustain an aggressive sales culture in Farm Credit associations;
- Assisting organizations in developing segment sales and marketing plans;
- Working with management teams to improve, reengineer, or reinvent business processes; and
- Managing a joint venture with the Forum Corporation to design a model process to implement a Customer-Focused Quality business strategy in Farm Credit organizations.
Roger has designed and conducted the following training programs: Leadership Management, Consultative Selling, Targeted Selling Strategies, Key Account Strategies, Relationship Management, Targeted Sales Support for Customer Service Representatives, Leading Your Sales Team, Sales Coaching, Leading Sales Meetings, Strategic Marketing, Managing a Profitable Business, Leading Customer Focused Quality, Process Improvement, and Loan Profitability.
Prior to joining FCCServices, Roger was Vice President of Sales and Agency Director for a private management-consulting firm representing Wilson Learning Corporation in the Rocky Mountain region. His agency assisted several Fortune 100 companies, large regional banks, and small businesses in productivity improvement.
He completed his Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) training by the American Compensation Association in 1988. He received his BA from the Ohio State University.
